I've just posted on my Thinking Practice blog about cuts, this group and related topics. http://thinkingpractice.blogspot.com/2010/06/cuts-and-other-c-words...

 

One of the points I make is that cuts to the arts are just part of what the Coalition is doing, and that if we are to campaign against the worst of them, or them being done horribly rather than proportionately and well, we need to make common cause with others. The question for here, then, is what alliances would be right, and which would not - and what can the arts contribute to the larger fight against cuts aimed at shrinking the state to 1920s levels and hurting the poorest and most vulnerable. (Or so it seems to me...)

 

Who could arts groups work with in other parts of the public, private and voluntary sectors?

thanks for this Mark, great post too on your blog and you are right about the need for us to join up and connect across sectors and with a view to the #cuts across the board.
